Extends the selection from the active cell to the edge of the data in that direction. The fastest way to select a column of data without the header or the blanks below.

• Fill a formula down

  Select a formula cell, Ctrl + Shift + ↓, then Ctrl + D → The formula fills down to the last row

  The classic fill pattern.

• The fastest way to select a whole column of data without the header.
• Stops at the first blank, so run it from a column with no gaps such as an ID column.
• Press the same arrow again to extend past a gap.
• Ctrl + Shift + End extends to the last used cell instead.

• A blank cell mid-column leaves part of the data unselected.
• From an empty cell it selects down to the next filled cell, which is usually not what you want.
