  • Underline a heading

    Select a heading, Ctrl + U → Underlined

    Old-school report headings.

  • Not to be confused

    Ctrl + Shift + U → Expands the formula bar, not underline

    A common mix-up.

  • Remove

    Ctrl + U again → Underline removed

    Toggle.

Worth knowing

  • Accounting reports use bottom borders instead of underlines for totals.
  • Double underline is under Format Cells, Font.
  • Mac uses ⌘ + U; Ctrl + U on Mac is edit cell.

  • Underlines look like hyperlinks.
