The Top 10 filter shows the largest or smallest N items, or as many items as make up a percentage or sum of the total.

- How
Row field dropdown, Value Filters, Top 10, then choose items, percent, or sum.
Worked examples
Top items
Row field dropdown, Value Filters, Top 10, Top 5 Items by Sum of Sales → The five biggest groups
Top five.
Bottom items
Top 10, Bottom 10 Items → The weakest ten
Bottom list.
Pareto
Top 10, Top 80 Percent → The items that together make 80% of the total
Pareto.
Worth knowing
- Turn on "Include filtered items in totals" if the grand total should stay the full total.
- Sort descending as well so the list reads top to bottom.
- The Sum option shows items until their sum reaches a target.
Where it goes wrong
- Grand totals shrink to the filtered items by default.
- Ties at the cutoff are all included.
