Worked examples

  • Save a copy

    Press F12, change the name, Save A new copy

    Version copies.

  • Export CSV

    F12, choose CSV Export the active sheet as CSV

    Exports.

  • Enable macros

    F12, choose .xlsm Macro-enabled

    Keep macros.

Worth knowing

  • Save a dated copy before big changes.
  • CSV saves only the active sheet.
  • Mac uses ⌘ + Shift + S.

Where it goes wrong

  • Saving as CSV loses formulas and formats; keep the .xlsx.
  • Laptops may need Fn.
