    Select the range, Ctrl + Shift + _ All borders gone

    Clean up.

  • Whole sheet

    Ctrl + A, Ctrl + Shift + _ Sheet-wide

    Reset a messy sheet.

  • After a paste

    After pasting from the web, Ctrl + Shift + _ Web table borders removed

    Cleanup after paste.

Worth knowing

  • The _ is on the - key: Ctrl + Shift + -.
  • Turn off gridlines under View for a cleaner look instead of adding borders.
  • Clear Formats removes everything, not just borders.

Where it goes wrong

  • Removes borders you wanted to keep in the selection.
  • Does not affect conditional formatting borders.
