When to use it

Selects the entire pivot table including its report filters, for copying or formatting.

Worked examples

  • Select a pivot

    Click inside the pivot, Ctrl + Shift + * The whole pivot is selected

    Then copy.

  • Copy as values

    Ctrl + Shift + *, Ctrl + C, Ctrl + Alt + V, V A static copy of the pivot values

    Snapshot.

  • Delete a pivot

    Ctrl + Shift + *, then Delete The pivot is cleared

    Remove it.

Worth knowing

  • PivotTable Analyze, Select, Entire PivotTable does the same.
  • Enable Selection mode lets you select all cells of one label.
  • Copy as values to share without the source.

Where it goes wrong

  • Same keys as select current region; inside a pivot the behavior changes.
  • Deleting part of a pivot is not allowed; select all.
