Groups the selected rows or columns into an outline with a collapse button in the margin. The tidy alternative to hiding.

• Group detail rows

  Select detail rows 5 to 12, Alt + Shift + → → A bracket appears with a minus button

  Click it to collapse to the total row.

• Group columns

  Select monthly columns, Alt + Shift + → → Months collapse to show only the year total

  Wide reports.

• Nested groups

  Group inside a group → Nested levels with 1 2 3 buttons at the top

  Expand to any level at once.

• Data, Outline, Settings decides whether the summary row sits below or above the detail.
• Auto Outline builds groups from SUM formulas automatically.
• Use the level buttons (1, 2, 3) to collapse everything at once.

• Groups on a protected sheet cannot be toggled unless outline symbols are allowed.
• Copying a collapsed group copies the hidden rows too unless Alt + ; is used.
