Show all formulas
Ctrl`Editing & referencesFlip the whole sheet between showing results and showing the formulas behind them.
Difficulty
1What it does
Ctrl + ` (the backtick, top-left of the keyboard) toggles the sheet between its normal view and formula view, where every cell shows its formula instead of its result. It's the quickest way to audit a model — see every calculation at once, spot a hard-typed number sitting where a formula should be — and print or screenshot the logic. Press it again to switch back.
2The shortcut
- 1Press
Ctrl +(the backtick key, aboveTab`). - 2Every formula cell now shows its formula; columns widen to fit.
- 3Press
Ctrl +` again to return to the normal results view.
3Before → after
Press the shortcut to play it on a sample sheet.
Before — the normal results view
| A — Revenue | B — Gross profit | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 110,000 | 44,000 |
| 2 | 120,000 | 48,000 |
| 3 | 95,000 | 38,000 |
You see results. Ctrl + ` reveals the formulas behind every one of them at once.
4When you use it
