1What it does

Ctrl + ` (the backtick, top-left of the keyboard) toggles the sheet between its normal view and formula view, where every cell shows its formula instead of its result. It's the quickest way to audit a model — see every calculation at once, spot a hard-typed number sitting where a formula should be — and print or screenshot the logic. Press it again to switch back.

2The shortcut

Ctrl`
  1. 1Press Ctrl + (the backtick key, above Tab`).
  2. 2Every formula cell now shows its formula; columns widen to fit.
  3. 3Press Ctrl + ` again to return to the normal results view.

You see results. Ctrl + ` reveals the formulas behind every one of them at once.

4When you use it

  • Audit a whole sheet's logic in one glance.
  • Catch a constant typed where a formula was expected.
  • Print or screenshot the formulas behind a model.
