Worked examples

  • Previous sheet

    Press Ctrl + Page Up The sheet to the left becomes active

    Cycles right to left.

  • At the first tab

    From the first tab, press Ctrl + Page Up Nothing happens

    It does not wrap around to the last sheet.

  • Group backwards

    Ctrl + Shift + Page Up The previous sheet joins the selection

    Grouping sheets for a shared edit.

Worth knowing

  • Ctrl + Page Down goes forward.
  • Keep summary sheets at the left so they are one keystroke away.
  • Hidden sheets are skipped.

Where it goes wrong

  • Accidental grouping with Shift.
  • Laptops may need Fn.
