Worked examples
Split the window
Click C10, Alt, W, S → Four panes split at C10
Compare distant parts.
Adjust
Drag the split bars → Adjust
Fine-tune.
Remove
Alt, W, S again → Remove the split
Toggle.
Worth knowing
- Freeze Panes locks; Split lets both sides scroll.
- New Window (Alt, W, N) shows two sheets side by side instead.
- F6 cycles between panes.
Where it goes wrong
- Easy to confuse with frozen panes.
- Splits are saved with the file and confuse the next reader.
