When to use it
Remove Duplicates: deletes rows that repeat across the chosen columns, keeping the first occurrence.

Worked examples
Remove exact duplicates
Click inside the data, Alt, A, M, keep all columns checked, OK → Fully identical rows removed
Cleanup.
Dedupe by one column
Uncheck all, check Email only → One row per email address
Dedupe by key.
Keep a copy
Copy the data first, then Alt, A, M → Original kept
Safety.
Worth knowing
- UNIQUE gives a live deduplicated list without deleting anything.
- Case is ignored: "west" and "West" are duplicates.
- Trailing spaces make duplicates look different; TRIM first.
Where it goes wrong
- It deletes without asking which row to keep.
- Numbers stored as text do not match numbers.
