Who is this test for?
Anyone who works with a business's numbers: financial analysts, FP&A teams, sales and operations analysts, controllers, finance managers, and founders and CFOs. The questions climb a ladder — entry analyst, analyst, senior analyst, manager or director, VP or CFO — and the test finds your rung.
How is the rating scored?
Like chess. You start at 1000 and every question has a rating of its own, seeded by the level of the job that owns that skill. Getting a harder question right moves you up more; missing an easy one costs more than missing a hard one. The step size shrinks as your history grows, so an established rating is stable.
How are calculations graded?
You type a number and it is graded within a small tolerance, so rounding never fails a right answer. Dollars, percents, multiples, and k or m suffixes all read. After grading you see the worked answer and the reasoning.
Where do the questions come from?
A bank of 1,132: 706 calculations and statement-reading questions generated from templates with different numbers every time, and 426 concept and judgment questions across 91 topics — from the three statements to capital allocation. Every topic has a learn page.
