=VARP(number1, [number2], ...)

Worked examples

  • Eight values

    =VARP(2,4,4,4,5,5,7,9) → 4

    The shared eight values.

  • Ten measurements

    =VARP(1345,1301,1368,1322,1310,1370,1318,1350,1303,1299) → 678.84

    Ten measurements as a population.

  • Back to sd

    =SQRT(VARP(A2:A51)) → 0.85

    Population sd.

Worth knowing

  • VAR.P is identical.
  • Only for whole populations.
  • Units are squared.
