Returns the left-tailed Student t distribution.

When to use it
The left-tailed Student t distribution. Cumulative TRUE gives the probability of a t value at or below x.
The shape of it
- Syntax
=T.DIST(x, deg_freedom, cumulative)
Worked examples
Cumulative
=T.DIST(2,10,TRUE) → 0.963306
t of 2 on 10 degrees of freedom is at the 96.3rd percentile.
Median
=T.DIST(0,10,TRUE) → 0.5
Symmetric about zero.
Density
=T.DIST(0,10,FALSE) → 0.389108
The peak density, a little lower than the normal's 0.3989.
Worth knowing
- One-tailed p-values use T.DIST.RT; two-tailed use T.DIST.2T.
- As degrees of freedom grow it approaches the normal.
- Replaces TDIST for the left tail.
Where it goes wrong
- #NUM! for degrees of freedom below 1.
- The cumulative flag is required.
