The inverse of the right-tailed F distribution. Replaced by F.INV.RT.
The shape of it
- Syntax
=FINV(probability, deg_freedom1, deg_freedom2)
Worked examples
5%
=FINV(0.05,2,10) → 4.102821
5% on (2,10).
Round trip
=FINV(0.01,6,4) → 15.20686
Reverses the FDIST example.
Another
=FINV(0.05,2,12) → 3.885294
5% on (2,12).
Worth knowing
- Same as F.INV.RT.
- ANOVA critical values.
- Iterative.
