Syntax
=FINV(probability, deg_freedom1, deg_freedom2)

Worked examples

  • 5%

    =FINV(0.05,2,10) 4.102821

    5% on (2,10).

  • Round trip

    =FINV(0.01,6,4) 15.20686

    Reverses the FDIST example.

  • Another

    =FINV(0.05,2,12) 3.885294

    5% on (2,12).

Worth knowing

  • Same as F.INV.RT.
  • ANOVA critical values.
  • Iterative.

  • #NUM! for probability outside 0 to 1.
