The shape of it
- Syntax
=COUPNCD(settlement, maturity, frequency, [basis])
Worked examples
Next coupon
=COUPNCD(DATE(2011,1,25),DATE(2011,11,15),2,1) → 5/15/2011
The May coupon.
Semiannual
=COUPNCD(DATE(2025,3,1),DATE(2030,1,1),2) → 7/1/2025
Coupons on January 1 and July 1.
Quarterly
=COUPNCD(DATE(2025,3,1),DATE(2030,1,1),4) → 4/1/2025
Quarterly coupons.
Worth knowing
- Format the result as a date.
- Coupon dates are counted back from maturity.
- COUPPCD for the previous one.
Where it goes wrong
- Shows a serial number until formatted.
- Text dates return #VALUE!.
